Insight #8

by John Fleming

One of the greatest and simplest principles we learn in life is to be a giver. “It is better to give than receive.” The question becomes: What does this previous statement/principle really mean? What do we give? The answer to the latter question is not absolute. If we give the question enough thought, we soon realize that we can give in so many ways and giving does not necessarily mean the giving of money. Money is only one way to give and it is a very small way. When we give of ourselves, our empathy, our love and kindness, we become great givers. When we teach others what we know not expecting anything in return, we give the gifts of knowledge. The more we give the better we serve, the more successful we become. It’s always about the people, always about the opportunity to serve others. When we give enough we will always receive enough.
